These are the words of my favorite photographer, Nirrimi Hakanson, who just turned 18 yesterday and has already done a series of ad campaigns and fashion editorials. I believe in what she said because I've followed her work and she truly lived it.
It makes me think if I'm obsessed enough to make my dreams happen. If I'm taking the right steps and making the right decisions. In a world full of responsibilities, bills, social conformity and the like, it's hard to step out of that system without people judging you thinking that you're making the wrong choice just because it isn't the norm. I'm taking baby steps. Easing my way while trying to work out what I really want to happen with my life. Pursuing my passions while still getting a steady income from my day job, and then maybe when I'm truly ready, I can live my passion and not worry if I'll survive the next day, because I'd be happy and satisfied.
wow, i love this & i completly agree.
ReplyDeletei guess obsession can be a good thing, the most succesful people most likely obsessed to get where they are today.

Just watch yourself and be careful: obsession other than for God is idolatry. Be obsessed in what He commands then.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. I know that I can survive any day job as long as I have my hobbies on the side. I'm all for earning money and sustaining yourself but I also know how hard it can be to ignore your passions!
ReplyDeleteGoodluck to you, Tabitha :)
And to answer your question: none! I wasn't able to buy anything for myself. My brother and dad put me to shame buying around 8 items for themselves :P
Bea from A plus B
Great quote and I would have to agree. If you want something bad enough you will find ways to make it happen.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, be obsessed to get what you want to get.
