25 on the 25th

Today I turn 25. It's not something that I dread, it's something I look forward to. I can just imagine the countless possibilities that life will present to me at this age.

My 24th year was such a life-changer. I was close to broke when I quit my job, worried that I made the wrong career choice. But for some reason I survived - without asking my parents for any financial support. It was the year I decided that I'm not working for anyone else but myself. Now, opportunities have been flowing in, I've become a travel photographer and I'm getting to meet interesting strangers along the way. I know now that this is what I want to do till I grow old.

I have also learned to value my relationships more. Getting rid of poisonous friendships and keeping rad, awesome people who will be there for you no matter what. As the number of my friends get smaller, they also get more intimate and meaningful.

Last year was the time I truly got to know my lover, too. Years of reserved "Hi's" and "Hello's" as college friends finally led us to this - a life full of crazy adventures and love. It's so true that God has the perfect time for everything. I'm glad I waited.

What is there to fear? Absolutely nothing. Hello 25th year! I'm so ready for you.
